I cannot comment properly on Ms. Waitress while my wife is just over my shoulder ;) .

But, I can tell you that I liked the background; informative and non-distracting at the same time.

Placement of the figure is perfect for me, by the way, for a "fast" shot.

I like the expression of smooth self confidence...by smooth I mean non arrogant but not shy either...it's the natural that strike me most...a pleasure to look at...

Alluring, and so many differences between Here and by you.

Here, the waitress is often dressed in uniform, while by you, well, she looks comfortably street chic, charming and the customers live in an eternal, impressionistic siesta.

I like the casual aspect of it, Pnina. Yes, it could be a mere shapshot--but isn't. You framed quickly and effectively, with just the right DOF. Very good work, as usual.

Donna, glad to see you here. I have sent you an email sometime ago, asking a question. Maybe you did not get it or you are busy.

In many cafes in Israel waiters are having uniforms, this one don't as far as I remember. She was unusual, as a waitress ,and I have asked her permission to take her photo.

 

Lannie, thanks, I wanted to take a photo of her as I wrote before, but the context was important as well. I took two frames and preferred this one. It is well documenting our breakfast in this very nice. location.

Great definition, skin tones, composition and atmosphere, as for the waitress....well I'm willing to bet that with that smile and countenance, she earns more in tips than salary.

Charming warm smile, there is something dreamy in this quick portrait.

I like the composition too except maybe that black patch at the top that kind of does not blend in with the rest of the beautiful impressionistic background.
