David-Wisse 5 Posted January 31, 2010 A brief respite from winter's deep freeze - thoughts welcome. Thanks, David Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 31, 2010 David... January Thaw sounds oxymoronic in your area :-). Yet I see the warm sun giving way to the coming cold night. A very good juxtaposition of these two... Mike Link to comment
dirk_juergensen 0 Posted January 31, 2010 A fine transition from the dark corner down left to the bright sun in the upper right. Calm but yet dynamic. A great seascape. Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks Mike - We had a few days of 35-40 degree temps - enough to open up the shoreline a bit. It's back to solidly frozen now, (3 degrees yesterday morning!). Thanks also Dirk. Remarkable how similar Lake Michigan and the Baltic Ocean can look at times! Best, David Link to comment
bettiecl 0 Posted February 1, 2010 The brutal ice chunks giving way to that soft glow of sun in the sky and amongst the chunks grips one! Cheers David. Link to comment

David-Wisse 5 Posted February 3, 2010 Thanks again to all. This is of course just my interpretation of the scene, one of many possible from the raw file. It's pretty far removed from what the eye would see if there, but I think I saw close to the desired result presented here when pressing the shutter. Janice - I like your title so much I changed it!
