Back-country skiing in Washington's Cascade mountains

I like the black & white conversion of this better than the color original.

i say that in a good way.

this has great lighting.

contrast

the scene itself makes me so want to be there.

and then this little skier shows up unexpectedly in the lower right hand corner, like a surprise intruder into this image. for this i would take down one of my own photos on the wall and hang this in its place.

Peter, thanks for your kind words. It was a great day of back-country skiing. We haven't been having a good winter here in WA so far, so everyone was hyped up about the new snow and we had a lot of fun. The clouds only parted for a few minutes showing the peaks down south, I had to hurry to put my lunch down, grab the camera, and jog to the spot where I got this one as another party climbed to the peak we were on.
