biskamp 1 Posted January 29, 2010 as suggested by Wolfgang Arnold, here is a version of the photograph with more space for the jet to expand to the right. please view in the large mode Link to comment

wolfgangarnold 142 Posted January 30, 2010 many thanks for taking up my proposal. It's very interesting to see the new version. Though I'm certainly biased when commenting this version - still: I like it far more than the previous one. Not only there's more room for the sand jet but also because the wider aspect ratio suits better to the scene.Best regards,Wolfagng Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 31, 2010 Very cool shot! This is the composition too, of the two posted. I gotta try for this phenomena the next time I'm in Death Valley. 'Course, it means a helluva blow! Good work! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks for your comments. Chris, yes, this was a very exposed spot on a high dune, whence this strong sandjet. In addition the background is in the shade, which makes the jet stand off nicely. Normally it is simply a blurred feature on the photo Link to comment
