seven 0 Posted October 22, 2002 Love the lines, Len - good timing. 400 was brave for that light but you got a great sky, contrasting well with the red flashing. That fellow lower right -- just hope he's flying behind the mill, otherwise he's hisory. Really like that large shadow. Cheers for now. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 20, 2003 Luck (serendipity) is a factor in any successfull shot. Just being there, having set up your camera & composed the shot is the first part. The second is patience. I watched these pigeons flying around at uneven intervals & just waited for them to fly again after I got set up. My patience was rewarded with this shot. The shadow on the wall was my serendipity bonus. Best, LM. Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted October 3, 2003 Very nice! The red chevron, the simple geometric shapes and the shadow really contribute a lot to this photograph (together with the flying birds, of course). I suggest straightening the vertical lines, at the cost of losing the lone bird on the right and of having to reconstruct a bit of sky in the lower right region (of course, we don't want to crop the roof here). I would also lose a bit of the extreme left edge (say, 10% of the photo's width) to achieve a better balance and to give the most relevant part of the photo more relative importance. Link to comment

spike 0 Posted February 3, 2005 lovely image Len, I especially like the single shadow on the wall! Is ths shot slightly tilted? I wouldnt expect convergence from a telephoto, but the wall edge on the right stands out being so close to the edge of frame. Link to comment
mareval 2 Posted February 7, 2013 Very nice capture! Thanks for sharing this folder from this fantastic place Elora, I have been there, for this reason I love this image. Regards. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted February 7, 2013 Thanks for your most welcome visit and for taking the effort of digging out this old post. I'm happy you are familiar with the Old Mill in Elora. Very picturesque. I used to visit here a lot when I used to camp at the campground of Elora Gorge. I have another view of the falls at the base of the Old Mill which can be viewed here. Best, LM. LenMarriott 9 Posted February 10, 2013 Between the two of us it looks like we covered this location pretty well. Thanks for your overall shot of the mill. That kayaker in the foreground is probably trying to muster enough courage to turn around and go over the falls. :-) It also looks like you were here at the best time of the year. (autumn, in my opinion) Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted February 11, 2013 I went digging in my old shoebox and found some more gems. I thought this one worth posting to my Elora folder. Thanks for triggering that thought. Best, LM. Link to comment
