lex_jenkins 13 Posted January 25, 2010 I must be getting jaded. I love the stark monochrome upper left 2/3... and then I get to the spot color and think... eh, could've done without that. I think I'd prefer it all monochrome, even if it seems a bit murky in the lower right 1/3 without color. On the other hand, perhaps in the context of the entire red umbrella series it works okay. But think this particular photo would stand alone better in all monochrome. Link to comment
tholte 16,570 Posted January 25, 2010 It's actually all color Lex, I don't do that selective coloring thing, yuck! Link to comment

alfbailey 1 Posted January 25, 2010 I think the image has great atmosphere, it looks like one of them mornings when you step outside the front door, and just don't want to go to work. The old style lamp post, the lingering snow patches, the thick fog and of course the figure with the umbrella, all add to the mood. I like it! Regards Alf Link to comment
tholte 16,570 Posted January 25, 2010 Alf, I am lucky this was on Sunday so I wouldn't have to play hookie from work. I love foggy days! Pattaya Girl, the sky has not contrast because it was foggy and I did a little diffuse glow to blow out some of the highlights. Link to comment
