Thanks very much all - appreciate your visits greatly. I don't do many pictures with this much blue - but thought it appropriate here to convey the sense of night falling. Hans is listening to a deer snorting across the river, just at dusk.

It portrays the beauty of night well.. colors are beautiful and Hans is regal in his perked listening stance.. Great Photo thank you for sharing.

Nice tones. The water has a nice feel to it. The reflections in the water for a nice composition. Do you shoot most of these freehand or do you use a tripod or monopod? David

Hi David - Thanks very much.

 

This shot was hand held, in very dim light. Usually not feasible to use a camera support with such an animate creature as Hans - although this often presents technical problems. I got a reasonably sharp photo here, although I would have liked the dog's coat to be better defined.
