acarodp 0 Posted January 25, 2010 While the mass was ending, I started praying (I was in the rightplace, after all) that the lady would not leave before everybody wasoff the frame. She did not, it seems I had the almighty on my side. Orcall it luck. Or simply it was what she wanted: you don't dress uplike that not to me seen, after all. So I turned and shot, pretendingto be interested only in the sculptures. What do you think? L. Link to comment

acarodp 0 Posted January 29, 2010 Alan, George, Giuseppe, thank you all very much. If I may drop here a little technical remark, this image comes from my first "outing" with my new D700. I'm usually in the field of "equipment does not count much", but here we have an exception. To take this photo in the dimly lit church I had to go to 3200 ISO, and my D200 would never have produced anything usable up there. The D700 output is instead extremely clean. No big surprise, every review has told so since the D3 appeared, but in practice I'm being quite surprised at how much difference it makes, how many more things it makes possible. On a similar note, the image is taken with a Nikon 12-24 DX, used on FX with no cropping. Despite being a DX lens, it holds up quite decently between 24 and 20mm. Link to comment

olga_celle 0 Posted December 27, 2010 Lucca, I really like this picture's lighting. It is very hard to set the camera and shot in usually very dark settings such as an old European church. The similarity between her (very expensive) hat and the confesionary decoration is humorous without being disrespectful. Very nice touch! Link to comment
