diana_bolen 0 Posted January 23, 2010 I have been asked to make a larger version of this for a potential customer. I am not sure of the colors and feel its a bit dark on my end. Monitors can vary so much, I am not sure it will fit the bill. Note: Image has been significantly reduced in size. Actual file size is over 1.5 mb. ThanksDiana Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted January 24, 2010 Diana, I like the basic shot and any comments I make would strictly be how I might hande this and do not mean this is a bad shot. We all see things differently. I have a couple shot of a crab spider in my portfolio as well, fortunately for me he was on a blue flower/. If you think you need to work with the colors you might try levels and tweak it a little. I would also crop it somewhat differently so that the cemter of the flower was more in the corner of the shot, this will also bring the spider out of center. It appears that you are losing some of the detail of the center of the flower (at least on my monitor) so lightening a little might help or dodging might help.. You might clone out the bit of dirt and the spot on the petal. What I would try to do is get the spider to stand out just a little more. Hope this gives you some food for thought, as I said these are considerations and not criticisms of yur shot. I do like the shot even as is, with some possible color or shading tweaks. - Charles Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted January 26, 2010 Diana, unless someone specifically asked for this image, i would throw it out and start again. You could do a few things here but does the image merit it. Your center is too dark, image has no real focal point, background feels weak, spots on petals need removed. This would be a image that i would not feel good hanging on someone's wall, especially if it had my name on the bottom of it. I am not trying to rubbish your work here just think you can do much better. Good luck! roger Link to comment
