There may be different views about the aesthetics of this photo. But Ithink it is original and quite unique in PN. It is a wolf skin mountedlike a cross above the corral where the small animals are kept duringthe night.

The photo was shot under very difficult light conditions and undertime pressure. The result was a totally under-exposed frame. Withmanual HDR technique I tried to create the hunting mood of the hour ofthe wolf.

Thanks for feedback and rating. Karl

This is an awesome photograph you've made! Scary and slightly surrealistic. It appears that the cultural habits and beliefs in this area are little changed from the time of Ghengis Khan. Amazing photograph, and wonderfully processed, Karl. Well done! Cheers! Chris

It appears you did a fine job with the editing and the scene is to my liking. I'm surprised at the choice of using a wolf to be a totem over the sheep pens. Maybe the sheep can't see or smell the wolf therefore they are not concerned. Does it really scare away the living wolves or is it just a herdsman's superstition?

Dear Ghulam, Chris, Jörg, Shawn, thanks for taking the time and for your encouraging comments.

Shawn, I guess the wolf in this picture has a similar effect on the little sheeps as the myth of Little Red Riding Hood had on us when we were children: It will take years to understand the truth behind it ;-). Karl

You did a good job at creating a haunting image. This reminds me slightly of what the Inuit do.I grew up with them and remember similar things from my childhood.
