What a beautiful dog! Is he yours? If so, treasure every moment with him and take lots of photos. We just lost our beloved 15-yr-old border collie mix, and the photos are some comfort....

Hi Linda, no he isn't mine. He was on the beach and his owner or whoever it was who was with him, wasn't a dog person and didn't understand that he should throw sticks for this guy. He was such a well groomed, gorgeous dog, and a beautiful breed.

I am so sorry about your dog. It is heartbreaking when you lose a little buddy after they have been part of your family for so long. We lost a much loved Yorkie a couple of years ago, he was 14. Now our other Yorkie, his half sister is 13 and starting to show her age. I wish they lived longer. I can't imagine life without a dog so will continue to adopt replacement puppies as long as I live.

Take care,

Linda

Poor baby! His hair is standing straight up on his head. Cold, I guess. Anyway, he looks party like a bear. I love the meditative reflection in the water and his gentleness and patience. Lovely pic. Too bad the owner doesn't know about stick-throwing!.

Linda M. couldn't help but read your comment. I'm sorry about the loss of your dog. I know what it feels like. But, sounds like your dog had a great owner/friend.

What a beautiful dog in your beautiful composition! I very much like the subdued blue/gray tones of the water which make the dog and it's reflection stand out so very nicely.

Compliments for your very nice photo! Kind regards

Thank you all for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

Donna, it's good to hear from you. Retrievers live to fetch, retrieve and swim. That is there life, so I felt sorry for him. He wasn't cold though, this was a 40 C (that's 104 Fahrenheit) day and also very humid, dogs and people were all glad to be in the water.

Best wishes,

Linda

What a great character, we had a cross Red Setter / Golden Labrador who just lived for something to be thrown, if you didn't find something to throw, he'd find it himself, you dare not ignore him because he would continually drop, stones or large sticks ( more like logs) on your feet. ouch!

Great Shot Linda!

Regards

Great shot, nothing like a retriever, they are the best people dogs. Love the reflection. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you gentlemen for stopping and commenting. I appreciate it.

Alf, I can imagine what a gorgeous animal a Red Setter and Golden Lab cross would be. These are two of the most beautiful dogs.

What a gorgeous shot of a gorgeous dog. I love the reflection you have captured in the water. The pup does look like he is just waiting for someone to play.
