Pretty much sums up everything I hate about candid/street photography.

 The subject looks about ready to shove your camera down your throat because of they way you're - utterly disrespectfully - invading his privacy.

 You're treating him like an exhibit - a freak - not a man, and you rob him of his dignity by doing so.

If you sit in a public place you are fair game for anybody who thinks you are an interesting subject.  The concept of privacy is being taken far too far these days.   The important aspect is how and in what context the photographer shows his work.   I don't see any reason for the cropping of the bag apart from not seeing the image when taken.
