Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2010 Overall, this is a nicely composed, well exposed portrait. I like it. One thing I did notice is that she has a rather long and pointed nose. Using high ratio (here at least 2:1, maybe even 2.5:1) side lighting, which illuminates the front of her nose and makes a very distinct line running down her face, accentuates it even more. By opening up the shadows with a brighter fill, I think this would to a great extent minimize it. Even having her lift her chin up some more, so her nose is not pointing down as much, would help. rascal64 9 Posted January 16, 2010 Thank you Scott...I appreciate the in depth response. I photograph women of very different shapes and sizes (not a fashion photog (>8), so it is always a learning experience to try to connect to and capture their individual beauty. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2010 Tiffany, Meryl Streep has very much the same kind of nose. She, just like this model, is a very pretty woman with a big schnoz :-). Surf the web and look at the studio photos of her. You will see that the pose and lighting is geared toward minimizing the size and shape of her nose. Link to comment
