Fairy Tale

I'm admiring your portfolio. Here, you have another carefully composed and visually interesting shot. I don't see merely two pretty people, but rather an allegory for what separates this couple from each other. My read, which may be very different than someone else's read is a young couple separated by a child whether a child they've lost or a child they want. They have serious expressions and are very aware of the camera.

 

Now, technically, I like the lighting and the background. The only thing I end up asking myself. Do those few visual elements, the short white bit of dust or lint, the tiny fragment of paper and maybe a leaf, I'm guessing, do they add to the shot? The holes in the wall, the texture of it, yes that adds to the shot. The weathered floor board, yes, this enhances the atmosphere. But those few bits of stray color, I'm not sure.

 

In th end, I found this a visually satisfying image with an edge of maybe not darkness, but mood and a hint of bleak sadness.

Thanks for your input Mark. It answer some of my doubts, which i always think that my photos are not clean and neat enough.

This caught my eye immediately from the thumbnail and doesn't disappoint in the larger version. Just an interesting shot, and one can put their own story to it.

A very nice genre picture that asks a lot of questions. Were the toys theirs? If not, to whom might they have belonged? Excellent exposure and textured background.
