Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2010 Very nice. I like her direct look into the lens and the detail in her hair. I like the upper arms held slightly away from her body, allowing us to see the curves. I like her piercings, too. It's the quality of work we've come to expect from you, David. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 21, 2010 Ernest, Thanks. Jim, I am glad you like it although I fear expecting quality work might be a little optimistic although I will endeavour to please. She was a lovely model to photograph. I hope I can photograph her again in the future. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 2 Posted January 23, 2010 I particularly like the color. I also like the tilted "scales" and balanced shoes, it is a good idea, and a good execution. Jim Phelps Link to comment
gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 24, 2010 I like that the model doesn't look like a "model". The shoe color really works against her skin color. The lighting looks simple but still provides separation of her hair and the well chosen background. My favorite small touch is the necklace. It is such a contrast but really works. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 25, 2010 Jim, I am glad that you like the this in colour. I was going to upload the b&w version. Strangely I feel the model works better in b&w but the shoes work better in colour. Self praise is no praise but I do like this one myself. Thanks a lot. Mark, Much of what I said to Jim could be applied to you. I am not sure about the model not looking like a model. However, I am glad you like it. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 2 Posted January 25, 2010 The contrast is stronger in the color version. This causes more visual tension. This keeps the viewers eyes moving from her face to the shoes which are the key elements of the composition (this is obviously intended because of the title) . The nudity provides some additional visual tension, which keeps the viewer engaged even longer. Jim Phelps Link to comment
