Young drug addict

Many young children are tossed out by their families to beg on the

streets from 7 years on.They are picked up by dealers fed drugs until

they are dependent on them and then forced to work for these people as

beggars or prostitutes.This young girl was 13 years old and had been

on the street since 8 years old.

My heart just wrenches at seeing this image. She looks twice her age, and there are so many signs of the difficult life she has already endured at such a young age. I suppose there is no hope for her....and therein lies the despair. Many of us can stay insulated from such horrific aspects of society, but you are out there doing something about it by bringing such things to the forefront of our consciousness. Bravo on a very moving image.
