Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 14, 2010 I had no idea which category to place this in. Please advise and/or comment on this image. Thanks! Link to comment
drechsler 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Beautiful image. I'm very glad that you didn't attempt to make it perfectly symmetrical in perspective. It helps that I love libraries and books. I think you title works well, too. Link to comment
brillb 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Christel...This must be the new library...incredible. Love the title ...maybe we will see this in club competition. Becky Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 15, 2010 Christal... Great tones and composition. A far cry from the old, dusty, musty City library that I recall from school (no comments about age)... Mike Link to comment
pfranklin 0 Posted January 16, 2010 This is great! Love the tones and pov and you nailed the title. Nicely done Christal Warm regards, Pamela Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 18, 2010 Good choice for B&W here too. I might push the black point a bit more; but that's just me. Who the hell cares about categories either? Landscape? A human landscape? Abstract? Like I said, "Who cares?" Well done! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 19, 2010 Thanks, folks! Glad you like this one. We have a spectacular new library here.....long time in coming due to construction misfires causing them to go over budget. But it's a place that we can be proud of. Check out Becky Brill's picture of the outside of the building. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=9279687 Chris, with regard to the black point.......would you happen to know how 'to push the black point' in PS4? All I have is RBG channels, and a contrast and highlight control. I agree with you.....I just don't know if there is a way for me to do that with this program. Or if anyone else would like to chime in on this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 19, 2010 The last layer I add in my post-pro is a Curves layer. With the Curve open in CS3, I hold down the alt key and slide the left slider until I get a spot of pure black appearing. That fixes my black point. I repeat with the white point (alt-key and grab the right side slider and pull it to the left until you begin to see the appearance of pure white). It is a matter of taste. Now, having said all of this, and carefully looking at this image again, I think you've got it just right as it is. Well done! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 19, 2010 Ahhh..therein lies the problem. PS4 doesn't have Curves. It's really quite primitive. If I can ever get around to getting a new computer, I can load my new CS4 program.....this computer just can't handle it. Thanks for the info anyway! Sorry I put you to the trouble! But also thanks for your re-evaluation of this image. :-) Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 2, 2012 Wonderful title and even better image which I rated 6. I also learned something from Christopher especially as I don't use the curves command. All the very best for 2012 and i am hoping to see some new images. Link to comment
