Constructive critiques are very welcome. I am trying to learn and get

better so anything you can help me with on how to improve my photos is

greatly appreciated.

Thank you for viewing my photo.

The centralized path and fence lines make a great leading line but there is really no subject to which they draw your eye. If you had a person perhaps walking toward the camera, it would help the composition a lot.

Without the person, perhaps you could have changed the camera position to have the path on a diagonal from left to right, with the end of it on the right vertical third.

Thank you Scott. I do understand what you are saying. I agree with you. On one hand I like the way that this photo leads your eye into nothing. It feels mysterious to me which is why I initially chose it out of the few I took at this location. On the other hand it does leave you wanting just a little bit more in the end since there is no resolution once your eyes follow the path down into the mist.

I do have another version that I will upload when I get a chance that I took from outside of the path looking down one side of the fence so it goes off at a diagonal in the way that you said. It will be interesting to see which version you prefer.

Thanks again for such a helpful comment.

even though I understand Scott's point, I prefer it this way, as an object on the path would disturb the symmetry and the vanishing point in the BG. What I find interesting here is that the surrounding land is lower than the path - it really helps the path to stand out. I don't think this photo needs a special object of interest. Cheers, Micheal

Thank you Patsy and Micheal for taking the time to look at my photo and comment.

I think everyone will have a slightly different opinion on and I can see validity in both ideas. Unfortunately I was not able to get to uploading the companion photo to this one yet that has a slightly different perspective. I think each photo would have a completely different meaning.

This one does leave you feeling empty and alone and has a sense of mystery to it. If you added someone walking down the path then it would take that alone feeling away and be about the person and have a different effect.

Then in the photo where I am standing outside of the path and it goes from left to right diagonally it has yet another feeling to it. I wish I had more time when I took this photo to play around with the scene and try some more ideas out.

I really appreciate the ideas and critiques from everyone it will help me think faster and have more ideas in future situations. :)

Cheers.

The depht and angle in this shot is amazing... The black and white treatment fits this shot perfectly... Very well seen and captured... The whole composition works very well...

Best Regards, Jill

Here is an alternate version taken from outside the path.

Scott is this kinda what you were thinking when you suggested diagonal path from left to right?

Thank you Jill for taking the time to view my photo and comment on it.
