Guest Guest Posted January 13, 2010 This is an outstanding portrait Denis. Very well lit, very sharp and a great expression on her face. However I think the arch in her back is a little too much. Don't feel alone, I did the very same thing a week or so ago and had to rotate it as well! It looks as if she is almost falling over backwards. I rotated the image a few degrees counterclockwise to make it look less extreme. I had ro remove her name and the border as they were now skewed, sorry. Link to comment
drasulev 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Satvinder, thanks for 7/7 ! Scott, thank you for your valuable contribution !! To be frank, I've spent lots of time thinking on the topic, to which you gave another vision (arch) and tried various options while processing the image. Well, what you did, surely deserves the right to be, moreover, it gave stability to the portrait and calmed it down a little. I like your variation. At the same time I left the photo the way I posted it here due to several reasons: 1) This lady is very active and energetic, she was literally dancing all the time I photographed her :) 2) This way - "she is almost falling over backwards", as you absolutely precisely described it, gives overall unstability to the portrait and that's exactly what I wanted to do ! To me it looks like she is going to jump the very next second exactly because the position is unstable. And it is natural, believe me, I didn't turn it a single degree ! :))) Soo... I am not arguing with what you did, moreover, I appreciate your valuable contribution and accept your variation ! Giving respect to your experience, I would probably accept yours over mine :)) And now, when the reason is explained, I want to know if I've succeded with expressing the nature and character of this lady ? Or there are better ways to do so ? Once again, many thanks ! Link to comment
tore 10 Posted January 15, 2010 Great looking model, with good skintone in the shoot and nice light. The composition her pose and expression works great together. Best regards Tore Link to comment
