leo burkey 0 Posted January 11, 2010 To see all this image's details, including some critters tracks working their way up the inner dune, please view larger. The challenge with all B&W conversions is getting all the subtle color tones converted to B&W without losing any. I always move all the sliders just to make sure I haven't miss any colors that might be hiding behind behind the main color. I believe that this image contains a full range of tones and is stronger image as a B&W than color. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 11, 2010 This is a pretty cool image! Somehow, the dune's slipface, in the shadows, reminds of the stripes on a tiger, and the textures in the FG lit portion of the dune are just amazing. Really a superbly processed black and white image. I am impressed that you still had this beauty rat-holed away for all of this time. This one just glows with light -- truly a luminous landscape. Well done, Amigo! Cheers! Chris By the bye, you're right; the little critter tracks add another nice touch to this! Link to comment

dougbrill 0 Posted January 12, 2010 The composition is almost abstract. I like the bands of light and shadow. Nice! Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted January 12, 2010 I see the tiger stripes and agree with your observation. This one almost got away from me as I passed over it in favorite of some others on my first pass. Luckily I picked it up on my second pass and I was surprised that I had passed over it the first time. The processing was a little challenging as some of the subtle colors took some coaxing. Thanks for your encouraging words as I do appreciate them. Link to comment

giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted January 12, 2010 post production. I think you did a good job on tones, and the compo, well, it's fine and balanced. A work I like very very much. Ciao, Giuseppe Link to comment
