Hernest,

She is a pretty girl. You have focused well on her eyes. She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). You have used your kicker well to help separate her right arm from the darker side of the background. The background is nicely neutral. Her make-up looks good. Her skin tone is very good. I like her pretty dress even if the pattern may draw the viewer's attention away from her face a bit. Your left and right compositional balance is very good.

Her expression looks like she is suspicious or distrustful of the viewer. I don't really like the way her hair is falling across her left eye.

This seems a little bottom heavy. To better compositionally balance the top and bottom I would crop a bit off the bottom.

It's not really necessary, but seeing as how this is a vertical subject you could crop some off the sides to make it a more vertical format.

Do not pose your subject straight on to the camera. This is not a very feminine pose. Showing your subject’s widest areas (shoulder to shoulder or hip to hip) makes those areas appear wide. Your subject will appear thinner, more feminine and more graceful if turned at an angle to the camera. The lines you see from an angle have more apparent motion, interest and grace. You usually do not want to have your subject turned 90 degrees to the camera. This can make the head look unsupported. It usually looks best to angle your subject somewhere around 45 degrees.

For some reason her right shoulder is slumped way down from her left shoulder (or her left shoulder is pushed up). This looks awkward. You have cropped the bottom at her right elbow. You do not want to crop at a joint. This can make your subject look like an amputee.

It would be good to retouch the dark circles under her eyes.

It looks like you have used your camera's flash as your main light. This will give you those tiny pointy looking catch lights in the middle of her eyes. The ideal position for catch lights is close to the 10 or 2 o'clock position on her irises. To achieve this your main light should be above, in front and to the side of your subject. The camera flash will also give you very flat lighting. Judicious use of shadows can make your photograph much more interesting and create a very nice illusion of depth within your photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark
