charleswood 4 Posted January 11, 2010 I love looking at this shot, personality of the dog is as clear as the capture. Wish I knew your shutter speed, f stop, light source since I would have trouble getting nose, eyes and neck in as great a focus as you have. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted January 11, 2010 Thanks. 1/250, f16, iso100. Light source is a 580EX on camera with an opened up snoot attached to bounce the light down. Shot with the fisheye about 6 inches from her nose. Most of her is a little in focus, but when looking at the full size pic, the area about 1 inch in front of her eyes to the back of her head is the only tack sharp portion. Here's another shot I took at the same time, but vertically. I just now post-processed it and wasn't going to. I'm thinking I like it better. Link to comment
charleswood 4 Posted January 14, 2010 Its a little too close to call, but I do tend to favor the first one. And thanks for sharing the details of the capture! Link to comment
ellery 0 Posted January 16, 2010 I wish I had a fish eye - very cool - I like both really - I tend to like the 2nd a bit more in ways - the lighting is a bit moodier in appearance and goes with her whole expression....but I do wish the 2nd had retained some more in the shadow of the right side of the image - very cool shot though IMO - take care! ldavidson 4 Posted March 21, 2010 Scott, this is a wonderful dog portrait. The expression in Amber's eyes is so tender and affectionate. I love the light, the detail, and the subject. Best wishes from another dog lover. Link to comment
