tompickering 0 Posted January 10, 2010 Nice contemporary looking model with good lighting. I like the way that the strong light source to the right shows off the curves on her body. Would a fill light on her face have softened the profile up a bit though? - there's a very strong contrast down the line of her nose. Depends on what look were aiming for I guess. Anyhow I liked this pic a lot. Tom Link to comment

gsphotoguy 2 Posted January 10, 2010 I agree with Tom on the overall lighting and the pose and attitude of the model. I happen to like this lighting on her face but I tend to make images with contrasty light. My one nit it that her left arm looks slightly uncomfortable. I suspect a slight adjustment in position would be better but this is very minor. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 2 Posted January 10, 2010 The shadow you referred to is intentional. This is called "Loop Lighting" or "Rembrandt Loop Lighting" because it was favored by the Dutch portrait masters of the 1600's. In this particular image, the fill light is 1 f stop below the main light. Jim Phelps Link to comment
