Dick... A spectacular view and I can only imagine the even wider expanse of being there... I'm still enjoying your trip... Mike

Mike, thank you so very much for the nice comments! You should go there. In 1995, when my daughter was one year old and I owned a very busy private surgical practice, we visited Kauai for the first time and rented a two bedroom condominium. I had no intention of buying weeks in a time share, but...we went on a tour and it was impressive. My wife wanted me to lock us in to a yearly vacation for two weeks, in a condo, so I did it and it was a wise decision. The condo trading through RCI hasn't been as easy as advertised, but the desired result worked...I stopped working for 2 weeks and we vacationed. Now, as many on this site have pointed out, a family vacation is not a photography vacation. But, my wife and daughter have been very gracious and I have tried to moderate my photo interests with their sightseeing. So, I took over 1100 shots and I'm still busy reviewing them. I am honored that you like these and I hope it encourages you to plan a trip. If you don't fall in love with Kauai...I'd be very surprised.

Have a great night!

Dick

Wow. Stunning color. Great contrast along the mountain edge.I get a bit of visual confusion from the white, distant clouds. Nice place and shot!

I'm glad to have run across your work, Richard. This shot has such rugged beauty, and I love the layer of clouds on the horizon. We've also had a time-share for about 20 years at Hilton Head, SC. It's not particularly a value vacation with the escalation of the maintenance fees, but we keep going because it's the one vacation that we kind of consider our home away from home. We don't do a lot of sight-seeing anymore.....we just relax and take it day by day. We went to Hawaii for our 30th anniversary, but only saw Maui and the Big Island....and just a bit of Oahu. Next time Kauai.....meanwhile I'll enjoy your photos! :-)
