Guest Guest Posted January 5, 2010 The umbrella absolutely makes this image although I think it might work without it as well. I especially like how the background becomes foggy without losing much in the way of sharpness. There is a great curve that starts with the tree in the top left and follows through all the other trees, ending in the bench or the umbrella, depending on the version. Superb composition. A very well thought out and executed image! Link to comment

stp 6 Posted January 6, 2010 I want people to "get" it, but the part I don't care about is whether they "like" it. I don't "get" it, but its fun to think about it and to try to guess what the photographer may have had in mind. It's an unusual composition, and that alone stimulates the internal thought process. Compositionally, I wish that tree trunk on the left was either complete in or completely out (I'd probably opt for "in" to keep things balanced and to keep the umbrella and bench on the right rather than more centered). dreamrealityphotography 0 Posted January 30, 2010 wonderful image! I love the the added touch of the umbrella even though w/o would still be a great image..it adds that "extra" step or feel that a good image would provoke within us. Link to comment
