You create a dreamlike or fantasy-like quality with the vignetting and lighting changes. Though the background has a brilliant light, it doesn't distract from the sweet expressions of the two girls. You've created a sense of wonder here that harmonizes subject and environment.

You would think this was posed...not so, they were taking a break from

helping their brothers build a New Years Bon Fire. Maybe a little extra

smile when they saw me aiming their way!?

This picture seems at once carefully posed and completely natural; the background could almost be a studio backdrop. No matter how it was accomplished, the finished photo is almost magical. In effect, it is very similar to your

wonderful picture of the three kids, a kind of heightened realism.
