Ricardo,

Very nice work. Enjoy the variety of light, throughout. Model gave you a fine, grace filled, pose. Good to see such nice work with the D40 & 50mm f1.8...proves it doesn't take the high end equipment, just a good photographer, to make such an image. Thanks for posting.

Thank you Charles, I apreciate very much your opinion, slowly but sure, I'm improving my equipment and software, already I got a Nikon D90, that took me some time, and independent on the prejudice, my interest of the photography is growing every day, that made me happy, I'm enjoy also the support and friendship of other member of the PN, they really help me to improve my quality of my work, and I am hope some day, I can bring more joy to other member of PN.

I said also thank you to all the people with are rating my photos, that a matter if is 3/3, maybe they enjoy to do this in the background, they are free to do this, but also that meaning also they already show some interest for my work. All the best..!

This is a unique pose and a great POV, the canopy of leaves filters a soft light onto the models face and makes for a very aesthetically pleasing image, like yourself I started with a Nikon D40 and progressed to a D90, both have been great camera's and I wish you every success with yours, I am sure you will enjoy every moment!

Nice Work!

Kind Regards

Ricardo,

She is a beautiful girl with a lovely shape. The subject is in crisp focus. You have posed her legs very well. The extension and pointing of her foot provides a very good line for her body. Her arched back and stretched ribcage give a sensual air to her body. Bringing her right leg up, allowing the hem of her dress to move up her right leg, creates a line, with the lines of her legs, leading between her legs. Combining these lines, her stretched left leg, arched back, head tilted back with her gripping the railing she is lying on gives the viewer's the impression she is in the throws of a sensual dream. Combining this with the virginal innocence of the white dress make for a very sensual, almost sexual, portrait.

The contrast of the subject's feminine curves and the bright pretty background with the ominously dark masculine hard shape of the railing she is lying on is very interesting. It brings to mind a sacrifice on an alter.

The rim lighting from the sun helps to separate her from the background. The light on her upper arm is especially effective against the dark side of her face. It is too bad that most of the rim lit portion of her is against the lightest part of the foliage in the background. The lighting on the tip of her big toe really draws my attention away from the rest of your subject.

The blue tint of her dress doesn't bother me as much as the blue of the pavement under her. I think the colors in the photograph would be more effective if corrected.

The background is quite busy. More attention would be drawn to the subject if you would have allowed the background to go out of focus. The pavement below her is lacking detail and is over exposed. This also draws attention away from the girl.

The top of the railing she is lying on pretty much bisects the image exactly in half. This positions her in the upper have of the picture. Even though part of her dress is hanging down to help balance the composition, this photograph has a very top heavy composition. The stretching of her body makes her appear even closer to the left and right sides than she actually is. She really needs more room on the left and right for this image to appear visually balanced.

It might have been ideal to crop at the bottom of the top railing and get rid of all that light area under her, but you really do not want to lose the part of her dress hanging down and cut off the tips of her fingers. Cropping at the bottom of the second horizontal line would be the next best choice. This assumes there is no more of the leaves above her that you could include in the picture.

If any part of the pavement is left in the photograph it would have to be darkened. I like her dress this dark, but as long as you retain detail in it, it certainly wouldn't hurt it to be lightened. You are loosing her in the background. Her skin tone is a bit dark. It should be lightened. It is usually best to have a light subject against a darker background. This allows your subject to be dominant and stand out. It allows it to be the most important part of the photograph. It is too bad that the lower right corner is so dark. That darkness doesn't balance well with the lightness of the rest of the background.

Notice the right angle created at her elbow. A 90 degree angle is a masculine angle. The line of her arm would be much more feminine looking if she would extend her arm further up the railing. You may have wanted to have her tightly grip the railing for the effect you were after. You should consider that this positions her hand so that the back of her hand is towards the camera. Showing the back of the hand is a masculine posing position. Avoid having the back of a female's hand towards the camera. The edge (side) of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful.

Nice shot,

thank for your point of view, I like in principle the idea. I still try to find how improve some details in background, to give more power to this portrait.

Lovely composition and colors. However, I second Mark Chartrand's comments. The pavement needed to be darkened a bit, but this is really being nitpicky. Nice work, anyway.
