This portrait would work a whole lot better if the negative space were to the right instead of the left in my opinion.

She doesn't need to smile to look attractive ! She is beautiful and I like her expression . I agree though with Scot about the negative space , it needs to be in front of her . Regards , Bill

I moved the negative space from the left to the right, I think it improves the composition measurably. This way it compliments the subject rather than competing with her.

Your work is splendid but I would leave a bot more space on the left. I will post my version tonight.
