When I took this picture (early 2003), I did not have Photoshop, andso reworking this picture was simply not possible, since perspectivecorrection was required. There might still be some strange lines andangles. Please let me have your opinions and suggestions. Almostseven years later, this particular shot of this house is finally beingposted to the web. Please see this same folder for other angles onthis house.

Thanks, Tom. I just verified from a satellite photo that the old house faces almost northwest, so that the sun in late February can just hit the front of the house just before sundown (which is when this shot was made). I'm rather compulsive about directions. . . .

I love the back side of this building. The way it seems to step down in size all the way to the back. This is a very interesting angle. Each section seems to tell it's own story.

GREAT image!

Thanks, Deb.

This one is a bit tighter than I wanted, in part because of a storage shed (barely visible to the left), and in part because I had backed up as far as I could go while shooting wide angle. I also lost some of the photo in the correction for wide angle distortion.

Even the original is very good. I think I really like the warmth you have given to the edited version. I had not even noticed the tip of the roof on that shed until you said something about it. What a history this house/building must have. If walls could only talk.

So you caught me warming the file in Photoshop--yes, I added a bit of red, given that it was near sunset and the house could have (and no doubt did) look like this on certain days. Thanks, Deb.

I think it takes an artistic eye to see and achieve the look of what it could have been on certain days. I think you added just the right amount of warmth to make it look realistic as to what it would have looked like near sunset.
