leo burkey 0 Posted January 1, 2010 Just before the sun slipped behind the mountains at the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley, I captured this lingering dune. The sharp edge of the dune along with the low angle of the light was very captivating. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 1, 2010 You are absolutely correct -- the knife-edge along the strike of the dune is the kicker in this photo; well, that and that glowing face! This is really nicely composed, exposed, and most impressively processed. The glowing dunes in the BG, at top, are superb and really gives a sense of the expansiveness of the dune field. Well done, and Happy New Year! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
raymondborg 0 Posted January 1, 2010 Very nice work. The low angle of light and excellent tones makes this picture stands out. Congrats. Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted January 4, 2010 This image, in my opinion, is the strongest of your recent dunes photographs from our November 2009 trip. I really like the composition, and how the eye follows this dune off into the field of similar dunes and lighting conditions. Your processing here is outstanding. This is an Ansel Adams-quality black and white photograph. Congratulations! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 5, 2010 I like this even better than the 'Dune's Last Light' that I've already commented on. You have such talent for extracting a full range of tones out of your B&W images. Yet your whites are not overblown and your darks still retain detail. This is a perfect example of that, and it also makes a great composition with that ridge kind of undulating back through the frame. Very nice! Link to comment
