Alex 0 Posted December 31, 2009 You have a winer on my boock. The whole image look well balanced to me. I don't mind the lack of detail on the dark foreground at all. leads the attention to the main topic. Alex happy 2010 Link to comment

harlequin 0 Posted January 2, 2010 Nice capture of a difficult subject. The B&W works well. I like this shot as is but might try it cropped so that it isn't qite so centered. maybe take some off of the right. - Charles Link to comment
frameworthyink 0 Posted January 4, 2010 Difficult is right! How did you get the sunburst without flare? Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 4, 2010 Thank you for your positive responses to this. It heartens me because I worked so hard to get this result. It was a bright afternoon on the Oregon coast, and my husband and I were sitting on a bench enjoying a glorious day and view. But I was frustrated that the light was so bright, so I started experimenting with my camera. I ended up shutting down the shutter to 1/640 while increasing to F:22. This 'tricked' the camera, and this was the end result. I learned a lot about the relationship between shutter speed and aperture while playing around, so overall it was time well spent. Oh, and the ISO was 160. And I will try the suggested crop off the right and see if I like it. Thank you! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted May 6, 2013 Yeah, I agree with you. I don't understand how the voting works. I saw that my other image (not this one) got more votes after the voting was supposed to be over. I guess we could write to the new editor of PN and ask what's up. But I don't worry about it too much. I figure I'm not going to win anyway. :-) But it would be nice to at least understand it. I'm glad to know it's not just me who doesn't understand it. :-) But that's weird that you're a member and you can't vote. Something is definitely wrong there. Thanks for your comment!
