cphilpott 0 Posted September 22, 2010 Well done. The time of day and the little shadows in the ripples of sand are just perfect. The bands of color from red to dark to blue really make a nice set of horizontal bands. The shrub makes a nice foreground but for me it is too big since it takes up about half the image and thus cuts it all in half vertically. I find myself wanting to see more of what is behind the shrub. A shot worthy of getting up early if it is a sunrise shot. Link to comment
diegobuono 3 Posted September 22, 2010 Craig, thank you for your input, very appreciated. It is a sunset shot, taken quickly during travelling, may be you are right, the shrub takes a big part of the picture and the other half is a little empty. Probably if the shrub was in the centre the picture was more equilibrated. Usually I do not like the subject in the centre but often it does work in square picture (take a look at this, where I deliberately put the tree in the centre http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=11613472 ).Thank you for visiting. marc_dilley1 0 Posted September 23, 2010 I'm in agreement with Craig - overall great image but for my taste it is cropped too tightly around the tree, esp the left side. Also the brilliant sand might seem more plausible if the dark bank of cloud wasn't so strongly purple. Link to comment
