Path to Abner's First Snow

First snow of the season.

Very interesting composition, so complex and yet so essential and polished. Great DOF. Nicely done indeed, Dennis!

As Mauro said, very nicely composed. The snow covered boardwalk zig zags nicely, eventually leading the eye right to the cabin and in the process observes the rule of thirds. It's bright enough that it keeps a wandering eye coming back to it which starts the cycle all over again. I find that cropping out about half the sky area (bland & boring this time of year) helps to keep attention on the important elements below. Your mileage may vary. B&W was a natural choice for this winter monochrome scene. You encourage me with this one to get out and enjoy the positive side of winter. Well, maybe tomorrow. :-) Best, LM.
