color 3 Posted December 26, 2009 A Lockheed Constellation, one of the most beautiful airplanes ever made. Reminds me of cars like Talbots and 1930s Bugattis. Anyway, I played with this image some. I like this version. Your comments? Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 27, 2009 Cool Chuck...........love the 'outcome',,,,,,,and as you've said, it is quite a great looking plane.......My Dad, when we were kids used to take us to the 'Air Show' at our Local Airport.....it totally fascinated me.....and people from the States would even fly up..... My favs were the old 'Mustangs'...(I think that is what they are called)..........it shouldn't amaze me, but it does.........how anything this big....can actually 'get off the ground"............(but then again.........I flunked out on Physics!!).......nice shot, well presented and an extremely great effect! all the best, Gail Link to comment
Mark Keefer 4,730 Posted December 27, 2009 Very nice. I flew across the Atlantic a couple of times on one of these when I was a kid. We used to have one in a town near us that was called the Airplane Restaurant. The plane sat on top the restaurant and at one time you could dine in the plane. The restaurant was torn down about 10 years ago, a little bit of Penndel history gone. Wish I had a photo to share. Love the B&W. Regards and Happy Holidays. Link to comment
chrisvest 1 Posted December 28, 2009 good pic, excellent choice to drain the colors and to shoot at night; it looks at once sadly petrified, frozen in time, and yet so ready to launch skyward one more time. Link to comment
color 3 Posted December 28, 2009 I'm attaching a small jpeg of the original of this shot. I processed it quite a bit and it was bright daylight, not night time. It was fun to produce the shot I posted. Glad you all enjoyed it. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted January 9, 2010 Chuck, this image really sings for me because of the editing. I get a sense of drama and awe. Link to comment
