We have ignition!

Second stage igniting in a two-stage rocket custom-built by high school students. The spent first stage is seen lower left. The second stage has lost a fin, later determined to be due to acceleration forces, causing the rocket to start to rotate, which can be seen in the photo. The second stage climbed to about 5000 feet. The size of the rocket can be seen in the accompanying launch pad photo. This was a thrilling, loud launch!
