Kyle,

I love this image. I am a country girl & I love photo's of chickens. This is a real beauty. That's a lot of snow. They are calling for snow for us tonight I would like to wake up to one like this in the morning. Regards, Patsy

Thank you for the kind words Patsy. My wife loves her chickens. We also have 3 Nubian goats, and 11 ducks. The chickens were funny in the snow, one of them decided to test it out after this photo and got stuck so I had to rescue her and then after that they stayed inside. The ducks love the snow though they were pushing around on their belly's like penguins.

This storm dropped about 14" of snow at our house. It was a big storm.

Saw a scene like this the other day but the light wasn't this nice. Good job on the exposure, great pose from the bird.

Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to view my photo Les. I did have to sit and wait for a while in the snow and be patient to capture the right moment.

These chickens are far more intelligent than people give them credit for, this one is obviously awaiting a delivery a pair of ski's so that he can try out that ramp properly! : - )

Seriously though, there are some lovely warm textures and patterns amongst the different timbers, a stark contrast against the snow. A well seen moment and a great composition too!

Kind Regards

Thank you Alf. I appreciate that you took the time to write me a message.

I am glad when I have even 10 minutes in the morning before work to take pictures in my yard.

I enjoy this photo, also because it reminds I of the country living. That piece of log spices up the photo - without it the image would be poorer. Actually, I think chicken are dumb, and this one is trying to decide if it sees whipped cream, snow, or lots of sugar. Cheers, Micheal

Thank you for taking the time to come view my photo and leave me a comment. Even if chickens are not the smartest animals they make great pets and have tons of personality. I agree with you that the log is very important to the composition and it wouldn't have been the same without it.

Cheers.
