The general pose, color and composition are very nice, however you have committed a classical mistake.

It seems to me that a basic and fundamental principle of picture taking of people is being ignored today, so I have taken to quoting my own learning source when I see examples of it in a educational attempt to bring it out into the open again.

"The Split Profile

"A fault that is apt to occur in using the three-quarter angle of the head is the split profile. The split profile occurs when the tip of the nose comes just even with the line of the cheek, projects beyond it, or falls barely short of it. This effect is unpleasantly equivocal; the line of the cheek should either be definitely stayed away from or be definitely broken. The eye further from the camera may also become involved in a split profile. The angle of the head should be so adjusted that the eye is either definitely included or unmistakenly excluded. Avoid having mere eyelashes or a slight fragment of the eye project beyond the bridge of the nose."

Mortenson & Dunham, How to Pose the Model, 3rd edition, Camera Craft, 1956

I too like the overall concept. The lighting is beautiful. Her expression and the position of her hands is very well done. I feel the nose/cheek issue is worth noting but, at least to me, does not take very much away in this case. Keep at this!

The nose/cheek issue that JM brought forward is probably a good thing to add to the list of 6000 other things a photographer should try to look out for when he's posing and shooting his model.

However, the phenomonen didn't jump out at all to me when viewing this image, and I think it continues to stand well on its own merit. Beautiful lighting, pose and mood. I would hang it on my wall!

Thank you very much for all of your time and comments. I love the quote on the rules of profile. I am not a classically trained photographer but I do understand certain concepts. This is a new one on me and I will commit it to me feeble memory.
