alfbailey 2 Posted December 12, 2009 This field seemed to survive the recent floods when the River Severn burst it banks recently, the new seedlings appreciating the bit of early morning sun. Your thoughts and comments are very much appreciated Thank you! Link to comment

adan1 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Amazing composition. The feeling of tranquility is palpable and the masterful capture of light and colors can only enhance the exquisite beauty of this scene. I feel like I'm contemplating a painting. Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted December 12, 2009 A beautiful side-lit shot. Good positioning of the fence as it takes our eyes into the frame. Splendid cloud system with spot-on p/p work....Regards Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Very pleasant colors, beautiful light and classical composition. There is a very interesting repetition effect when my gaze travels over the fence and then hits the next imaginary triangle formed by the group of 3 trees in the background.Best Regards, Tibi Link to comment
gardena 0 Posted December 12, 2009 I like this, too, especially those so very English trees. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 12, 2009 Wonderful capture and the sidelight is perfect lighting up the ground and the fence. Also you have composed it very wisely and the dof is just right. Excellent shot and good p/p work. Take good care Alf and all the best from Jannica (who is still laughing about your storytelling) Link to comment

vickifrance 0 Posted December 12, 2009 This is a prefect example of how a place that you pass by a thousands times on your drive to work or home can make a beautiful composition. When the weather the lighting and the camera all line up...a beauty is born. Very nice work! Link to comment

dougsmiley 0 Posted December 12, 2009 it just looks dark and muddy to me. I think too that the horizon line could be a bit lower. Link to comment

FALAK I really appreciate your views and opinions, thank you! MAURIZIO Thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. VICKI Your so right! This photo was actually taken while I was visiting a civil engineering company on business, one early morning, who were dealing with a belated flood defence scheme, just behind me were excavations and machinery, I was just lucky i had the camera in the car and noticed how the light was catching the field, I suppose the lesson learned is to always keep the camera in the car. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words Vicki. MICHAEL Much Appreciated Thank you! PATSY Lovely to hear from you, I'm really pleased you like it, thank you sincerely for your very kind and inspirational comments! YANNIK Thank you for your very kind and encouraging words. DOUG Well....what can I say.....your right! it was kinda dark being early winters morning and errrm yes muddy but hey! this is England, we are rich in mud, in fact mud, rain and cold are all principal winter ingredients in the UK, in fact it was so muddy my feet were 15 sizes bigger when i got back to the car : - ) As for the horizon being lower.... hmmm well, I would have had to sacrifice a bit of precious mud, and a lot of foreground detail to achieve this, but I thank you sincerely for your imput. Sincere Thanks and Warm Regards To All Alf Link to comment

JimCowan 0 Posted December 13, 2009 The colours here are tremendous, this could be held up as a perfect example of the 'golden hours of light'. A very fresh image. Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted December 14, 2009 NEIL Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your comments and observations, and I'm really pleased you like it. LINDA Thank you for looking in and for your very kind comments. Much appreciated! JIM Thank you so much, with photography you can see the same view a 100 times and it looks nothing much at all, but if we are lucky and we catch it in the very aptly described "Golden Hours" it can be like a completely different scene. Sincere Thanks To All Alf Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted December 14, 2009 What wonderful light and composition - I was attracted to it immediately and was not disappointed viewing the larger image. When making comments about color balance, it must be tempered by the fact that I am unaware of the light you experienced and the fact that the results vary from monitor to monitor. For what it is worth, I love the green in the image but I get a sense that the foreground mud and the birch posts may be carrying a tad too much cyan/green - but i could be wrong. In the grand scheme, the aforementioned is a minor thing and still consider the image to be very beautiful. best regards, Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted December 14, 2009 Thank you for looking in, and taking time to comment. After one of your recent comments about monitor calibration, I decided to get mine calibrated, luckily a friend of mine had all the necessary software and equipment so it didn't cost me anything, but I only had it done on Sunday, which of course was well after I submitted this image. I can now see what you mean about the green, having said that, like yourself I still quite like it! In fact I think the images in general look a whole lot better after the calibration. Sincere Thanks Alf Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted December 17, 2009 I truly love this shot just as it is....so many times I've been in a location where the lighting appears such as this....congrats Alf.....very nice work...most sincerely, Gail Link to comment
johnroberts 0 Posted December 17, 2009 The light in this shot is excellent and the lines of the plants and the fence take the eye into the depth of the image. The colours and tones throughout the shot are wonderful. Regards....John Link to comment
