timzeipekis 5 Posted December 12, 2009 I really like the original, so I was a bit tentative about reworking it. I'm very pleased with the results though. Thank you! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted December 12, 2009 Tim... I don't recall the original posting, but I don't see how it could be better. This is excellent... Mike Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Some might want to see a white point, but I think you are just right as far as your zones go. Hey Tim, this is truly sublime and I think there is room in my favorites for this beauty! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 12, 2009 This is a beauty,I did not see the first version but this is so good. I like the winding furrows that leads us to the receding 3 trees, very nice B/W conversion and atmospher of nature with a human touch. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks so much everyone for all the wonderful comments! Hope you all have a great weekend! Link to comment
rueda 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Simple and beautiful... the number three is the magic number in this composition... 3 (elements), 1/3 (horizon) and 1/3 (the protagonist). Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted December 13, 2009 Tim, Tim, Tim... This is amazingly awesome! This may, in fact, be one of your most artistic images to date. Mark G. is right in that some may want a white point; I might have tried; but I think you probably have it just right. You could probably even 'paint' a little contrast on the up-slope of the those gentle hills and achieve a bit more separation; but then again you could leave it just as it is. What about a touch of space for the tree on the right side and the frame? Okay, okay, okay, I'll shut up now. Man, I love this, Tim! This is sweet! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks! I really appreciate the comments. Chris - This was one of the first photos I took with my Oly E-500 about three years ago. I always liked the shot, but my processing was still in an infant stage. I've learned a lot from all of you and felt confident enough that I could revisit this one. I agree with what you and Mark have said about the white point and I'll tinker with that, I just don't want to lose the dark and gloomy "feel" that I remember it being that morning. As for the field itself, I'm afraid to touch it anymore. It took me quite a while to get this result. I did lighten a patch in the foreground to help it from feeling too "top heavy" Thanks again! jeffl7 0 Posted December 19, 2009 When I think of the prairie, I think of lonesomeness, of thoughtfulness, of quietness. I remember working the fields, trudging through rows of corn from treeline to treeline, quietly thinking about anything and everything. This evokes all those old memories. Link to comment
