ISO 1600, D5000 vs. D300

This is a comparison between the high ISO 1600 results from the D5000 and D300. While they were captured at approximately the same location, I had to use different 35mm Nikon lenses in different days, and the location of my tripod was slightly off.The D5000 and D300 produce essentially the same high ISO results. The D300 maybe slightly noiser in the very dark area that is seriously underexposed. In the more useful part of the image that is properly exposed, the two cameras are about the same.
