carl smith 0 Posted September 26, 2002 I finally took this out of personal interest to see what this scene would look like with "normal" film. So it would be of interest to me to hear what you think of this, and if you're feeling particularly generous, what your opinions are of this versus the IR version found here. Link to comment
david_eppstein 0 Posted September 26, 2002 I like the normal color version better, it is less gimmicky and doesn't divert so much attention away from the nice composition and interesting distorted shapes of the buildings. Link to comment
tonygattuso 0 Posted September 26, 2002 I never have been much for wide angle shots. I like this one however due to the forms created by the buildings. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted September 26, 2002 Neat shot. Maybe another position of the sun lighting the main building a bit more could have been slightly better but it works fine as it is too. Regards. Link to comment
fed sanchez 0 Posted October 15, 2002 I do like wide angle shot of buildings. The only way to do it, if you ask me. It is difficult to consider a better lighting, I think. If it were lower, you'd loose the light on the brownish building. Higher, and you'd loose the nice colour of the sky. I do see the point, though. The paler sky in the left, and the shadow on the right are both distracting. Maybe a better shot would be emphasis on what is really nice here, the sky and reflection in the window (top of the frame).Just an idea. Link to comment
carl smith 0 Posted October 15, 2002 Yup, sometimes I try to figure out how I could get better lighting. And I see this place often and look at it frequently (it's right on my campus). Unfortunately, it's incredibly difficult to get the best lighting with such a wide lens. Especially given that I'm pointed straight up. This is actually about as good as the light gets. Not enough light would come through to illuminate it if I were to shoot in the morning so the light came from the right. The buildings would block it. And of course, directly overhead would be silly. stevemontanino 0 Posted October 30, 2002 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE BRICK CITY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Lol, not quite the way I usually look at the Eastman Bldg. from the Steps in front of the bookstore. Interesting. The IR doesn't add, try b/w IR instead though. Good to see fellow RIT students on this site. Link to comment
