obi-wan-yj 0 Posted November 30, 2009 My sons were drawing in the condensation on the storm door this coldevening. I decided to experiment a little, so I placed my flash (430EXat 1/4 power and 24mm spread) on a remote trigger out on the frontporch (about 3' beyond the door) pointing back inside. I adjusted theperspective to straighten the lines in post, but the exposure isstraight off the camera. This was very much an experiment, so I'm very interested in anyfeedback you can give on what worked and what didn't. jpo3136b 0 Posted December 1, 2009 I think the subject here is the relationship of the children to the smears on the window; maybe a conversation between themselves as they play. Some compositional aspects contribute: lighting accents the smears, the silhouette of the children shows them well enough to be recognizable as children; the pointing and touching of the figure on the right (hand at left) makes some contact. Caption predisposed me to expect children smearing on the glass; because that is a subtle, past, gesture, I think the caption is an important part of the photo (minus technical explanation)(for later use, maybe). I like high contrast black and white photos, so I felt the exposure was great. The exposure shows the subject; exposure contributes to the photo. Link to comment
