I was an uninvited (but welcome) guest at an Art Gallery recently at its opening night. I had been driving and stopped on the chance of maybe making a good photo.

This is one scene I captured, among others.

Please let me know if I have succeeded.

While driving around, I spied people milling around inside what appeared

to be an 'art' gallery, so I parked and went inside. It was 'opening night'

and I was an 'uninvited guest' but not a party crasher. It was open to

those who were passing by. Your ratings and critiques are invited and

most welcome. If you rate harshly, very critically, or just wish to make

an observation, please submit a helpful and constructive comment,

please share your photographic knowledge to help improve my

photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

When I saw this there was no question what I would take.

There is another version, with another piece of art, leflt which is almost as good and should be shown in color - quite different in its own way and really very good also. You may see it on another service, or here, at some far future date.

My friend Giuseppe Pasquale tells me he would crop left, and I cropped right already to avoid a confusing scaffolding I could not crop out because of an inappropriate aspect ration; I usually dislike cropping, but about his suggestion, maybe.

Thank you so much for your kind comment; I think it is a keeper, maybe a lifetime best.

(pardon initial misspelling of your name--now corrected)

Thank you so much. I work very hard on composition; luckily this woman stayed here a while so I had a moment, but a better composition was ruined when her eyes were looking at the camera.

My best to you, and thanks.

There are a few anonymous raters who seem not to care so much for this photo, but for the most part most anonymous raters tend to be newbies. Not all, but the majority; they rate a lot of photos at first to 'get their bearings' then some drop off. A few stay and develop their taste and get man idea of style.

Most veteran raters (non-anonymous) rate this very highly, as do I, certain to be in my next privately published book or submitted to galleries/museums, etc. , when I soon start doing that. I'm nearing the end of that process this month and early next year, expect to go ahead with my work toward getting known in worldwide in the commercial/gallery/museum world of art.

'Street' is a 'style' that some people never get a taste for; it either is acquired or people like pretty flowers, over saturated sunsets, maybe huge photo shop jobs, or other such, including many cliches.

I regard such a photo as a HUGE FIND, and to capture it a coup.

A color version, quite different, is on a different service, a triptych.

You might look for it.

No link here, out of respect for the owners of this service.

(You'll have to Google.com my name - easy enough to do.)

It's in color and quite a different photo, because of the color, the composition and more 'art' is involved. Still, the same actors are involved. Seldom does one scene present so many opportunities.

Thanks Heidar, for letting me know your opinion.

Watch now for photos from Ukraine.

Best wishes.

I previously named a photo (much lesser, but higher rating) 'Two Women' I added 'II' after this to distinguish the one from the other.st/mirror shot, but slightly absurd/surreal.

Of course, this is another contrast/mirror shot, however with excellent textures/tones, I feel.
