Landrum Kelly 64 Posted November 29, 2009 First shots with the Orion hooked up to a camera! Great fun. Comments welcome. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted November 29, 2009 Well, I certainly did not mean to click on this pic of the moon as a favorite, and I'm not sure how I did it. If I were to claim one of my own as a favorite, it sure would not be this one. Maybe after I've learned a bit about astro-photography I can produce something that doesn't make me flinch. What did happen that was rather interesting was that a red-headed woodpecker landed on the tree that I was waiting for the moon to clear so that I could start shooting. I went ahead and started snapping him. The sun had just gone down, and so he is not looking too good here, but he was a long way off and I had to crop and blow this up as far as I could. The light was dismal. Look out birds! I'm coming after you with this rig. As for astro-photography, I can see one big problem right away: the first thing one wants to do is to get more reach. Well, I have the teleconverters/extenders, but they did not work for me with the telescope. All I got was an error message. --Lannie Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted November 29, 2009 Well, I tried, Tom. I just felt good about finally getting the scope into action as a camera lens, an easy thing to do, but something that I had been putting off. I hope that I get a lot better. --Lannie Link to comment
