As best as I could determine, the shrouded body of the deceased is

lowered into the river in what I presume is a purification rite. Then, the

body is returned to the riverbank and entombed by logs which are set

afire in a cremation rite. If this is not accurate, I'll appreciate someone

with knowledge of Hindu services setting me straight.

This image sent me back reminiscing about the time I spent in Kathmandu, and some of my visits to this special temple place. I was not taking photographs at that time so some of my thoughts at the moment are rather rueful. However, Thank you for posting and sharing.
