trisha jean-angela 5 Posted November 29, 2009 Thank you so much for your kind comment; hopefully soon I will be posting my entire folder of these beauties (I have been photographing them almost daily tracking their life cycle). I have a lot of Iris, but this one is my only Autumn blooming variety I have so it is quite a treat to see it bloom again. Thanks for your visit and kind comment. I am glad you liked this one. :) Link to comment

Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted December 1, 2009 Nice shot, Trish! Top of the winter to you, if in fact there is a "top" of the winter, the dreariest season of all. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted December 1, 2009 I seldom comment on flowers only because I mostly only photograph dead ones. However, this one of yours is much to my liking and I had to let you know that I saw it. A beautiful photograph you have here. Link to comment

trisha jean-angela 5 Posted December 1, 2009 Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your nice comment; I am so pleased you like this photo! I agree winter is very dreary but thankfully I live where it doesn't last too long and it never snows (except when hell freezes over which did happen just once about 10 years ago just days before Christmas). There are two seasons where I live: Hell and Fog and sometimes fog is a nice break from hell! lol. Thanks again...always nice to hear from you! :) Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted December 1, 2009 Thank you for your kind words...I think...unless you think my iris is to your liking because it looks dead? lol. Seems to me I remember you having some very nice living flower shots in your portfolio; I'll have to have another look! Thanks again for your kind comment and your visit; always good to hear from you! :) P.S. If dead flowers are your thing, be sure to check out my port again as I will be posting a new folder as soon as this iris is through blooming. The folder will have the progression of the Iris' life cycle. Link to comment

harlequin 0 Posted December 5, 2009 I like the flower and colors (might be a little brighter) and the DOF is nice. Might play with the composition a little to make it more interesting.. Maybe try flipping it so the flower is on the left. I know that shouldn't make a difference, but it is the old reading from left to right thing and it MAY add some movement qualities to the shot. It might not work either. You might also try pulling the botto crop up a little. These are little things for an already good shot that might or might not help. - Charles Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted December 6, 2009 Thank you for your input; I am happy you like it even if you do find it boring. I purposely made it darker to suggest the darker smoldering colors of autumn since this is a fall blooming Iris. I tried your suggestion for flipping the photo around but I think it looks better this way. I really don't see the need for cropping the bottom more as I would lose petals. Thanks anyway for your suggestions and visit. Link to comment
Christa Binder 616 Posted February 23, 2010 Hi Trisha, I like the dark background, it puts all the focus on this beautifully colored iris. Link to comment
