This has got to be one to hang on the wall Dan, a very dreamy atmosphere you've created with the misted water and those pastel colours. I think the square crop works really well too. The darker area bottom left draws my eye away slightly but it is only slightly, all in all another great image.

Best wishes, Dave.

Perfect use of foreground, middle, and background. Classic and solid.

You processed it well also, I see detail everywhere. It pure eye candy!

Nice long exposure, the texture and detail in the foreground rocks is almost touchable, then my eyes wander across the rocks amongst a myriad of colour and light to finish on the furthest focus point the moon.

Well done!

Kind Regards

This is just awesome! Fabulous details in the FG granite boulders, and I love the shutter speed for the surf. This is terrific stuff! This is going straight to "My Favorites." Cheers! Chris

Marek, Dave, and Huy, thank you for your kind comments. Dave, sorry about the FD misinformation. I selected the wrong 24mm lens. I need to go fix that. Anyway, it is a Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L. Thank you again. Dan

The thing is Dan that you see the subtle beauty when it is there. You don't bash the viewer over the head with it. Your images are quiet but powerful. In the last 10 minutes you have become one of my all-time favorites on pnet. I feel I can learn a lot from studying your work.

PS. There is a magenta area mid-right. Did you take it out to see if it improves the image?

Jeremy, thank you very much. I have to admit that my instinct is to deflect such strong praise of my work, but I do my best to just say thank you.

As far as the magenta to the right, I did go back and forth on it. Because you have drawn attention to it, maybe I made the wrong choice. The sky was kicking in so much of the orange to purple hues that the colors tended to burn through at the spot with less wave motion. In any case, I consider myself lucky to have caught the moment (I did slip a couple of times in the process of getting to this rock).

Thank you again. Dan

Dan,

There seems to be a path where the my eyes lead me into the image and ends up at the moon giving a wonderful flow when viewing this image. The tones are just appropriate for the mood created here and of course the framing and composition could not be better. Outstanding image for me. Best regards!

Lester
