Did that flamingo hatch a deer? I guess it must be confused being so far away form home. Or is there a breed of flamingos that make their home in Iowa? Classic David Meyer find.

As you know, I'm a lover of kitsch, and this is a great find for me. And, yes it appears that this wayward flamingo has indeed hatched a little doe. Must be some cross breeding going on here. I love the parking meter at the office too.

I am actually more taken with the sign. Cable TV is not enough, but they ALSO have HBO and Cinemax. Talk about the Department of Redundancy Department, as Stuart Scott puts it. Still, something tells me that sign is at least 20 years old, for nobody is impressed by just Cable TV anymore, and I don't even think Cinemax exists anymore.

As for the Adonis preening on the lawn, he reminds me of something from a Stephen Spielberg sci fi movie in all his pink eminence.

King of kitsch. The preening flamingo cinches the deal with a fawn resting gently at it's feet. The only thing missing in this static scene is the flicker of the neon.

David, you seem to be drawn to these places like iron filings are drawn to a magnet. When I see a picture like this I don't know whether to laugh or wring my hands in abject despair or just head out to McDonald's for a hamburder and fries. Another winner in your ongoing documentary of the Land of the Free (or at least the low weekly rate) and the Home of the Bizarre.

the guys and gals don't understand - when this huge flamingo poops, it's that big...that it has a shape of a deer is a coincidence. I surely wouldn't want to have these flamingo fly over my head. Yeah, a nutty find. Cheers, Micheal

Viejo...another classic vision into your mind. I know you or I would stay in a place like this because we would rather spend our hard earned money on camera equipment...besides you probably got a dozen more shots out back!

Not having cable, dish HBO or Cinemax...I would pull into this place in a heart beat! Did it have Magic Fingers?

Hope your Holidaze is as bright and as passionate as what the Flamingo stands for...

Michael...the positive side of turds that big...look how green that lawn is!

This is about as 'kitsch' as you can get. You must spend a lot of time on the back roads of this great country. There is some wonderful stuff out there if you can get off the Interstates. I love this image, and you have a really interesting portfolio as well.
