mario2 0 Posted November 26, 2009 This image is a detail about Gaudi’s work, in this occasion Gaudi was inspired in the sea making a whirl;maybe the light characterize a hope in the storm... In my opinion the lamp needs more space around it (left side) :- (. Thanks for your time and thoughts Link to comment
antoniodiaz1 0 Posted November 27, 2009 Sí que es extraña, parece una tormenta artificial. Link to comment

jeff.grant 0 Posted November 27, 2009 I agree Mario, it needs more space on the left. The rest of it really works well. I wonder if you were to do it again whether it would look better with the light less tilted. I can see the strengths in the tilted approach too.It may lose some of the dynamism with less. mg 0 Posted November 29, 2009 I'll agree with Jeff about the suggestion of "more space at left", as for the tilt, yes, it adds dynamism and I'd keep it the way it is. But my main reaction to this would be : nice light ! Some window (outdoor ?) light from the left casts a shadow of a lamp while adding a hint of blue on the bottom left, and that's what makes the picture here, together with the ceiling's motives. mario2 0 Posted November 30, 2009 I think that really worth it comeback again and repeat the image, In that moment I didn’t chose the best hour, I complete agree with you, the best light as you said to stand out better the whirlpool geometry would be lees tilted. If I have the possibility to comeback with permission I will take again choosing the best light and done with a tripod, the problem about the light is the building orientation NE , the best light is in summer not now (Barcelona) when the sun has the elevation enough to enter into the room. mario2 0 Posted December 3, 2009 The image was done under a daylight that enter across the window,Thanks to take time in my image Link to comment
Saludos: Gema. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 14, 2009 Mario; The quality of light is what makes this. The warmth of the incandescent light in combination with the blues daylight makes for a terrific transition as we travel around the swirl. I agree with your original comment that more space on the left would be nice. I also feel that more space in all around may be beneficial and allow more motion from the swirl pattern. This is such a successful image that I would think your idea to return and re-shoot would result in some other fine photos, this certainly seems a subject worthy of further explorations.
