Thanks Pep Mir! This shot was right before the other one, btw. The 5D Mark II is a bit slow at 3.9 fps for this type of shot (feel more like 2.5-3 fps though).

A "gotchya" moment all right. I've been arguing with myself over the next camera. Your comments about the 5D sound familiar. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Steve! The problem is that I keep shooting with the 5D Mark II instead of the 40D (I really should sell it). I think in the end I will either live with the 5D Mark II or go for the 1D Mark 4. I have never had any experience with any 1D, hence, I can not comment. However, I am addicted to the 5D Mark II resolution! One thing I know for sure is that with a fullframe sensor a 1.4 extender is a neccescity or may be a 500mm lens since 400mm is just marginal in shooting bird.
